Being restricted from travel doesn't mean you can no longer go on vacation.  Check out these five staycation ideas that are perfect for the family, because with them, you can mentally escape your busy life and have some fun.

The coronavirus pandemic wreaked havoc on spring break plans. Following stay-at-home orders and public safety risks, families have been forced to cancel their previously planned itineraries. And now, one year later, the national pandemic is still raging, pausing the spring break plans once again. Making you desperate during your kids' time off from school to break up your quarantine routine.

You might prefer being hyper-local with your dollars and helping our economy. You could help local hotels, probably at a great rate, while helping yourself and your family safe from the virus or do those, below. You can still cheer them up and comfortably entertain your mates.

Staycation Ideas for the Family Even During the Pandemic

Staycation Idea no. 1. The simplest will be indoor camping or on a nearby campground. Rattled nerves are soothed by being in nature, and it allows avoiding crowds in an open-air environment. Make it unforgettable with musical instruments, roasting s'mores and hotdogs, and a sense of adventure.

Staycation Idea no. 2.
 Try indoor family games.
Theme parks are unnecessary but try to recreate some version of the experience if the kids really miss them. Try gathering board games and puzzles for relaxing family time.

Challenge your imagination and assemble the troops under your roof like the Olympics-style series of events, organize concepts like DIY human twister, obstacle courses, or water balloons in your yard. You might not get Splash Mountain, but in an atmosphere of healthy competition, everyone gets some fun.

Staycation Idea no. 3.
Set up a spa at home or visit one at a local hotel.
Stay away from crowds in a family pampering and self-care session designed like a spa experience. Set up an aura with everybody's robes. Bring together your expertise, build stations for hair, nails, and skincare services.

Prepare your favorite drinks, pick up some treats, and have an unforgettable, unique memory with the family.

Staycation Idea no. 4.
Go on a road trip, and save from entrance tickets.
Although far travel is not exactly an option, road trips make for an excellent opportunity that lets you and the family out of the house. Play sing-along music and fill your car with food, and hit the road to an accessible destination in town. Don't forget to bring those hand sanitizers!

On your getaway, stop at newly discovered roadside attractions, and do photo opportunities from far away. With very few people traveling, this is a great time for some family photo ops. Admire the beautiful coastline or mountains and enjoy the open road's peace, and go home safe.

Staycation Idea no. 5.
Opt for the beach if you live near a beachy coastal area. Get out and feel more relaxed outdoors, where you don't have to go along with the crowds. Carry a book, picnic for the whole fam bam, a towel for the beach and sports.

Not only can children have fun, but they will have a chance to get physically involved if they have otherwise been co-opted in the house while spiking a volleyball, shooting a basketball or chasing a frisbee.

There are numerous other things you may do like in-house Science camps or artists retreats in a room or via online meeting. All you have to do is challenge that imagination.
