When your kids are little they are attached to you at the hip, from bedtime stories to playing games outdoors, you help them with their homework, they share every little detail about their day with you summing it up they can't spend a tiny fragment of their day without you but as they grow up into kind and loving people they also drift away from you. A little quieter it is difficult to crack the code to what they are thinking.

In their early teenage years their whole world is filled with intrigue and curiosity, starting to discover new things and meeting new people can have an adverse affect on their personality. It is normal and healthy for them to figure out what is their place in the world and where do they stand. To calm your nerves and curb the anxiety you have to focus on how you can develop a better relationship with your kids by indulging them in different activities that will nurture and strengthen your bond with them.

Home Projects You Can Work on With Your Kids

In order to create a good bond with your kids you have to list down all the aspects that you need to follow. Take your time to qualify everything. When you start to create something with them which they are interested in, you will get to listen to their ideas and how they want things around themselves.

  • Room Redecoration: Children go through different transitions during their teenage life, things they were once fond of don't attract them anymore, start from that. You can help them redecorate their rooms, get rid of the boring colors on the walls and opt for a nice peel and stick temporary wallpaper. A pattern that fits to their liking, when you spend more time with them you will get to know the sort of vibes they want around themselves, as someone has said your room is your sanctuary. How they want their rooms to be, what color palette they choose, what patterns they want will help you better understand them and create a greater bond.

  • Creating different arts and crafts: Pink wallpapers have always been a statement for girls rooms as they give a nice neutral vibe, you can indulge in creating different arts and crafts from those wallpapers too, you might have plenty of extra pieces lying around in a loft. Peel and stick wallpapers can be used to cover up lamps or desktops.

While they sort out their stuff and help around the house, they might be less enthusiastic about the house chores but once you introduce the idea of creating something or building something it will instill in them that they are seen and heard and whatever opinions they share will be listened to. They will have a sense of satisfaction while contributing to their family. Having that time and building that bond will surely help in the long run.
