'Wolverine 3' Trailer & Release Date: Hugh Jackman To Exit, Names Who Would Be 'A Great Wolverine' -- Which Actor?

Hugh Jackman said that he thinks Tom Hardy will make a good "Wolverine" after him when he goes out of the franchise.

For fans of the Wolverine, you've all been used to seeing Hugh Jackman sport the claws, facial hair and the cool demeanor that Logan has. However, Jackman is reportedly walking out of the franchise after one more movie, and he has given the name of an actor whom he thinks will be a good replacement for Him.

Jackman, a 46-year-old Australian, is coming out for one last Wolverine movie in March 2017. The Wrap reports that after that, he'll be hanging his claws in the locker, and many have been throwing their bets on who's going to take on the role.

In an interview with MTV news, Jackman said that he has been asked as to who will take his place a lot of times. However, he wasn't really focused on it.

“I haven’t really given it a lot of thought,” said Jackman. “I’ve been asked that question a lot, and I’m always like, ‘I don’t wanna make it too easy on the studio to replace me,’ you know? I’ve still got one more to do. I’m sure they’re already talking about it, and there’s some actor [they’ve told] ‘shh, keep it quiet but we want you next.'”

While thinking about an actor who could play a younger Logan, Jackman made his choice.

“He’s younger than me for sure,” said Jackman. “I think Tom Hardy would be a great Wolverine.”

Having played "Bane" in "The Dark Knight Rises," 38-year-old Hardy is no stranger to comicbook adaptations. He also stars in an upcoming adaptation of "100 Bullets."

The Wrap adds that British oddsmakers, after being satisfied with his role in "Mad Max: Fury Road," "Locke," and The Dark Knight Rises, want Hardy to take on the role of James Bond when Daniel Craig leaves.

Jackman has been playing the role of Wolverine for several times since "X-Men" was released in 2000, and since has consecutively played five times to date. According to Variety, it's unclear whether Jackman will make cameo appearances in the upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse" on May 27, 2016, or in spinoffs "Deadpool" and "Gambit."

Collider reports that according to Jackman, "Wolverine 3" will explore the father-son relationship that Professor X (Patrick Stewart) has with Logan.

Jackman also indicated how he wants his X-Men role to end.

"People ask me, ‘How are you gonna be able to let it go?’" said Jackman. "To me the only way you can let it go is if you left blood every day on the studio floor."

"Wolverine 3" will be released March 2017.
