The Masked Singer host and actor Nick Cannon is defending himself against criticisms that he became a dad to four babies within the last seven months.

The father, who has seven kids in total, opened up in a Los Angeles radio show that his new babies were not born by accident despite having different mothers. Cannon said that he had his children "on purpose." He also said that he could have gotten a lot more women pregnant, but he consciously chose to have kids with his babies' mothers.

Cannon's revelation comes as his current girlfriend Alyssa Scott announced on July 3 that she gave birth to a son named Zen last June 23. Cannon also acknowledged his seventh child in a Father's Day post on his girlfriend's Instagram Story.

The Kids of Nick Cannon

The 40-year-old rapper became a first-time dad with the birth of his twin children, Monroe and Morrocan Scott, with pop superstar Mariah Carrey in 2011. The twins were born as the couple celebrated their third wedding anniversary. However, Cannon and Carrey divorced in 2016 after eight years of marriage.

A year after his divorce, Cannon's then-girlfriend, model Brittany Bell, gave birth to his son Golden Sagon, his third. In December 2020, Bell gave birth to Cannon's fourth child, Powerful Queen.

However, rumors were rife that the host and Bell's relationship was on the rocks and that he has been seeing models Jessica White and Lanisha Cole. It was allegedly Cole who was with the actor when he struggled with COVID-19 in February. On the other hand, White decided to end her relationship with the rapper after learning about Cole and told Hollywood Unlocked that she had miscarried the rapper's baby.

Then in June 2021, another woman said that she gave birth to twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir. Their mother is DJ Abby De La Rosa. The babies would be Cannon's second set of twin children and his fifth and sixth babies.

Living Life to the Fullest

In 2017, the rapper joked with radio host Howard Stern that he doesn't like wearing condoms because he wants to live his life. In 2012, Cannon was diagnosed with lupus, an autoimmune disease, which sent him back and forth to hospitals for four years.

He said that since his near-death medical experiences, he realized how life is short. Knowing that he could "die sooner than most people," the TV host admitted that his attitude has changed towards living his life to the fullest.

Meanwhile, his ex-wife approached Cannon during a Hollywood event about his expanding family sometime before the birth of his third. Carey remarked to her ex about his prowling and laughed about it together.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Carey said that she does not have to try to make parenting work with her ex-husband as he is a "committed dad." On the other hand, the rapper said that he does not plan on getting hitched.
