Muhammed Awal Mustapha, also known as Mompha Junior on IG, is the richest 9-year-old African with a collection of mansions and supercars. Mompha Jr. is the son of Ismaila Mustapha, a multi-millionaire Chief Executive Officer of Mompha Burea De Change on Lagos Island.

The nine-year-old has only nine posts on Instagram where he shares his mouth-dropping fortune, but he already has 36,000 followers on the social networking app. As the son of the Ismaila, aka Mompha or Mompha Sr., one can say that the flashiness of their fortune is a family thing.

Mompha Sr. has a significant following on social media, where he shares photos of his supercars, private jets, mansions, and travels to more than a million followers. The CEO calls his children "expensive," and rightly so. His children are seen on his social media wearing designer clothing that is not cheap such as GUCCI and Versace.

Bentley for his first car

When Mompha Jr. was just six years old, his father bought him a silver Bentley for his first car. Mompha Junior is also reported to be the youngest landlord after his father bought him a mansion. On social media, the father and son flaunt their cars, watches, jets, and cold cash.

Mompha Sr., also known as "Sky Man" on IG, is Nigerian but is based in Dubai, where he works. He is the CEO of Mompha Bureau de Change (BDC). A BDC is an establishment where customers can exchange foreign currencies.

In 2019 however, Mompha Sr. was accused by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of running an illegal BDC and defrauding people. The internet celebrity and CEO was suspected of being an Internet fraudster and ran an unlawful BDC along with Ismalob Global Investments Limited. The anti-graft agency prosecuted Mompha Sr. and Ismalob on a 14-count charge related to cyberfraud, money laundering, and running of an unauthorized business. The charges amount to almost N33 billion.

Expensive wristwatches

In 2020, during the closing of the N32.9 billion money laundering trial of Mompha, a witness of the EFCC said that Mompha was a director of Islamob, he was a signatory to its account, and that said the Central Bank of Nigeria did not license BDC compared to Mompha BDC which is a licensed outfit. Mompha inherited the latter BDC from his late father.

Mompha Sr. pleaded not guilty to 8 counts, but as the first defendant, he was charged by EFCC on 14 charges but was granted an N100 million bail. A couple of weeks ago, Nigeria's anti-graft agency stated that the internet sensation used expensive wristwatches to conceal some of his wealth. Some of these watches are valued at N70 million.

With his cars, private jet trips, and expensive watches and clothing, both Mompha Jr. and Sr. remain as their flashy socialite selves on social media at present.
