Texas mom Adrianne Grayson gave a surprise birth to her sixth child in her bathroom when she felt that she was 'just bloated' and had to relieve herself.

Grayson, 33, never had any prenatal symptoms and thought her stomach cramp was anything but an actual labor pain. The mom said that she also had no clue that she was heavy with a child because she lost more than nine pounds during what was supposed to be her first two months of pregnancy.

The Texas mom said she would have been very aware of her pregnancy after having five babies. Her youngest child was only a year old before the surprise birth. Grayson commonly experienced hip issues in all her pregnancies, had a huge bump and could tell if she was having a girl or a boy. Yet none of these were present when she had Apollo in September 2021.

"I knew what pregnancy looked and felt like but I had absolutely no idea I was expecting Apollo," Grayson said, per Daily Mail.

A Serious Health Kick While Pregnant

Grayson explained that she had a serious health kick in 2021 because she wanted to get fit after her fifth pregnancy. She was working out daily in the morning and proudly claimed that she fitted in the "tightest pair of shorts" she owned in no time.

The mom blogger actively shared her fitness journey on Instagram and YouTube and never talked about pregnancy. However, she did reveal that she has irregular periods and knew how to manage this condition, including the frequent bloating issues, following years of guidance from her doctor. So, she thought nothing of it when these issues returned after her fifth child. She also thought that her irregular periods were due to her constant exercise.

But then, 24 hours before the surprise birth of her sixth baby, Grayson felt bloated again and sporadically had painful cramps, which she attributed to pre-menstrual issues. She managed her discomfort by doing yoga and briefly considered going to the emergency room when her waves of cramps became almost unbearable.

When she thought of relieving herself in the bathroom hours later, Greyson came out with a baby instead. The mom called out to her husband at 2:00 a.m., who was in complete shock.

Grayson still had contact with her children's midwife, who arrived at their house in the wee hours of the morning to clean the baby. She was also surprised by the birth, which Greyson said was her "easiest pregnancy for sure."

A Cryptic Pregnancy

The Texas mom had a cryptic pregnancy, also known as stealth pregnancy or denied pregnancy. The phenomenon happens in 1 per 475 pregnancies, where the moms don't have any indications that they are with a child. They could also mistake their symptoms as unrelated to being pregnant.

Women who are likely to have a cryptic pregnancy are those with active lifestyles with irregular periods or mothers who have recently given birth. According to What to Expect, some obese women may also not realize they are having a baby because they will not notice the physical changes.

Meanwhile, after the arrival of Apollo, Grayson's husband underwent a vasectomy to ensure that another surprise birth in their big family would not happen.
