People Stunned As Mom Savannah Looney Gives Birth to Baby With Full Head of Hair

Family members and friends who saw the newborn daughter of mom, Savannah Looney, for the very first time had the same stunned reaction as the hospital staff who welcomed her. They could not believe that baby Mila, born in September 2021 in Florida, already had a full head of hair. 

Savannah detailed via Daily Mail that the midwife who assisted in Mila's birth had never seen anything like the baby's full head of hair in her 30-year career. The other doctors at the hospital also kept visiting the mom and child in their ward because they wanted to see the baby's "amazing" mop head.

The mom said they had no idea Mila would have thick hair because it never showed in Savannah's scans during the pregnancy. She also assumed that her baby with her husband, Anthony Looney, would be bald, like most newborns.

Debunking an Old Wive's Tale

These days, Savannah said she's trying to style Mila's hair every day, which has grown six inches longer since birth. The baby is almost eight months old, and Savannah usually keeps her hair neat in a ponytail.

Admittedly, bath times are a struggle for Savannah because she could not easily rinse out all of the shampoos on Mila's hair. But the mom is loving her daughter's adorable locks, especially when it's fresh out of the water, as it's "super curly" and cute.

Mom Amy Frayne from Northampton in Great Britain also welcomed a baby with a full head of hair. According to Metro, baby Darla has to get a blow-dry after her bath. The midwives who assisted in her birth were also shocked to see her thick adult-looking hair. 

Both Savannah and Amy said they never experienced heartburn during pregnancy, thus debunking a perpetuating old wive's tale about heartburn and infant hair. However, researchers speculate that the same hormones that may be causing the digestive issues in pregnant moms may also be the same hormone that contributes to fetal hair growth. 

Baby Boy Born with a Full Head of White Hair

Meanwhile, baby boy Archie Stone was born with a very noticeable thick and snowy white hair to mom Gemma Stone in Berkshire. Per the Daily Record, all of Gemma's three kids have the same snow-white hair. However, unlike Savannah and Amy, Gemma did suffer from heartburn in all of her pregnancies.  

Archie became a celebrity of sorts at the hospital where he was born in October 2021. The nursery staff took time to give the baby a "tour" around the facilities to show him off to the other medics. 

Gemma said she doesn't mind her children getting some attention for their white locks. The mom even jokes to strangers that her kids have absorbed all her bleach.
