A Lafayette mom is crying out to the public for help in locating her 14-year-old runaway daughter. Eva Davis is the youngest daughter of JoAnna Anderson, a single mom, according to KPEL 965.

Anderson said she reported her teenage daughter missing to Lafayette Police last month on May 27. Anderson said she has done everything to promote positivity, always moving forward and being productive to her kids.

Anderson said that she would be OK with her daughter being with someone who was pushing her in a positive direction, but she does not even know who Eva is with at the moment, so she can't tell what her child is being pushed into. Anderson added that what she does know is whoever she is with, they have not contacted police and they have not spoken up or said anything.

This is not the first time Eva Davis has run away from home

Anderson said her teen daughter took the opportunity to run away from home while she was away working her part time job as a Door Dash delivery driver. However, Anderson said this is not her child's first time running away.

Anderson told CBS 42 that she learned from her oldest daughter that Eva had a backpack, so this was planned. Anderson added that her daughter was prepared to do this, and with her going to work, that gave her child the opportunity to run away.

Anderson is concerned that she may have had a grip that was too tight on her daughter, saying "People might say that I sheltered her, but I think our kids need some sheltering with the way the world is these days. As a parent, you try to do everything you can to ensure that your kids have everything they need."

Anderson believes her teenage daughter is with someone she knows

According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, 77 percent of endangered runaways reported were between the age of 15 to 17 years old. 87 percent of the missing kids had at least one reported risk factor, namely: family conflict, physical or sexual abuse, struggling to manage mental health, being with a friend, romantic partner, or biological family, etc.

Anderson said that it is so unfortunate that they have so many negative influences in this world these days, and a lot of things she knows have come from her school, among her peers and things like that.

Anderson believes her teen daughter is with someone she knows, saying "I'm not sure what it is that a person may be doing to influence her in a negative way. Nowadays, I don't even know what to do to keep her from this negative that she's hearing."

Anderson cried out in the interview in hopes that her teen daughter manages to see the report. She said "Eve, I love you. We love you, we just want the best for you and wherever you are you know you can call me."
