'Transformers 5' Cast & Plot: Hasbro Confirms Sequels 6, 7 & 8, Franchise Plotting Out 'The Next 10 Years'

Everyone knows that "Transformers 5" is in the works. However, the team behind the science fiction film featuring alien robots transforming into vehicles is preparing more surprises for their fans.

It seems that the audience will get to see more of "Transformers" in the coming years. New reports claim that several sequels in the next 10 years are already plotted.

According to ComicBook.com, during the MIP Junior Conference 2015 Q&A session,  Stephen J. Davis, President of Hasbro Studios and Entertainment and Licensing for Hasbro revealed a crucial detail to the audience. "You're going to see a new 'Transformers' movie coming from Hasbro and Paramount and Michael Bay and our other partners," Davis said.

That's not all! Davis revealed  that their team is plotting out the storyline of the "Transformers" franchise for the next 10  years. Their team of creative writers lead by Akiva Goldsman spent 3 months together to discuss.

Davis is very proud of the team, citing that Goldsman had won an Academy Award for "A Beautiful Mind" and had written several  great movies. He also disclosed that they are working  with nine of some of the most creative writers.

The "Transformers" writers  room includes Steve DeKnight (Daredevil), Ken Nolan (Black  Hawk Down), Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Hibernation), Robert  Kirkman (The Walking  Dead), Art Marcum (Iron Man), Matt Holloway and Zack Penn (X-Men: The  Last  Stand), Jeff Pinkner (The Amazing Spiderman 2), Lindsey  Beer (How To Nail An Alien),  and Christina Hodson (Unforgettable).

"And they plotted out the next ten years of Transformers. Similarly we are doing the same in television and digital. So stay tuned Transformers 5 is on its way. ...And 6 and 7 and 8," said David.

Many are pleased with Davis' statement. However, according to Independent the announcement  was not surprising because many other film studios set long-term plans for their franchises, like Marvel. In fact, Marvel is very  successful in producing a number of TV shows and movies.

In an earlier report from Parent Herald,  there are speculations that the "Transformers 5" will be titled "Transformers One," a prequel that will be set entirely in space. It will tell the audience the untold story of Cybertron, the home of the Transformers and reveal the struggles the Autobots went through with the Decipticons.

However, the team was divided whether they shoot the film entirely in space because doing so will disregard human stories.

"So going to space might force an all-Transformers movie, and while I think some fans would love that, I think other fans would be disappointed they don't have humans."

"Transformers 5" will be directed by Michael Bay, and  will be penned by Akiva Goldsman. Actor Mark Wahlberg is set  to reprise his role.

"Transformers 5" is slated for a 2017 release.
