Chrissy Powell Missing: Family Fears for Safety of Texas Mom After Discovery of Disturbing Text Messages

The family of missing Texas mom, Chrissy Powell, fears for her safety after her mother saw some disturbing text messages allegedly sent to her by an ex-partner.

Powell suddenly disappeared on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, and she likely forgot to take her mobile phone because she was already running late for work. The last images of the Texas mom were taken from her front door's ring doorbell camera, showing that she was rushing out of the house at around 10 a.m.

Powell's mother, Claudia Mobley, wasn't aware that her daughter had gone missing until one of her co-workers came by in the afternoon. They told her that Powell, who is a paralegal, didn't come to work that day, but she did call to tell her co-workers she would be getting in late.

Powell was arguing in the text messages

Mobley told The Sun there were text messages from one of the fathers of Powell's children. The two were apparently in a disagreement Sunday, July 3. The mom didn't say what they were fighting about, but Mobley described Powell's relationship with her child's father as "on and off," and they often argued just "like cats and dogs."

Powell's mother, however, does not think the ex-partner has the capability to hurt people. The San Antonio Police Department also spoke to him after Powell's family filed the missing person's report on July 6.

According to Daily Mail, the family checked with hospitals and the county jail for clues to Powell, but there hasn't been any sighting of a woman fitting her description. Mobley also said that her daughter's bank account had no activity. If she was going away somewhere, she would be using money.

Because she left in a hurry, she also forgot to take her medication for an undisclosed medical condition. Thus, not only was she missing but also in danger if she won't be able to medicate on schedule.

The San Antonio Police have distributed missing person's flyers with Chrissy's profile and opened a tip line via 210-207-7660.

Who is Chrissy Powell?

Lauren Leal, Powell's best friend for 33 years, did not notice anything unusual before her disappearance. She also didn't mention any concerns for her well-being or safety. The best friend said Powell would not do anything to put her children through a traumatic experience by simply running away. Her kids are 12 and 3 years old.

She graduated from the University of Texas San Antonio but was originally from Connecticut.

She was driving a 2020 Black Nissan Rogue with the license plate PYJ 8564 when she disappeared. She is around 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 120 pounds. Powell has blond shoulder-length hair, per Fox News.
