Tiktok user NukaShakes, a mom, posted on her Tiktok that she stopped buying bread at the grocery store to save up to 75 percent on bread.

The mom advised families to search for a bakery outlet in their respective areas and buy bread there. She added that the change altered how she shopped for baked goods and saved her cash.

She shared that she used to buy low-quality bread from the grocery shop for about 98 cents, admitting that she shied away from the more expensive varieties, which cost up to $4 per loaf.

When she visited a local bakery outlet, she found some high-end bread brands that cost less. She got four big loaves of Oroweat County Style bread for $1 each, saying there was nothing wrong with it. She found other products like Thomas' cinnamon bread, which costs $1 at the bakery.

Since she spent $9, a dollar over the limit, she could choose an item for $1 off the "free shelf" in the bakery and a box of Entenmann's brownies.

The sensible shopper said she would freeze the items she did not plan on using immediately to save her from a few trips to the bakery. Her post garnered over 3,300 likes, and a hundred views, as per The Sun.

Experts suggest other grocery-saving hacks that may help save a few dollars.

More grocery-saving hacks:

1. Making a grocery list and cutting down on items not needed.

Going to the supermarket without a list tempts the shopper to grab something they do not need. Even if you have a list, bringing hungry kids to the shop makes unwanted purchases impossible. Make sure you stick to the list, eat first before heading to the groceries, or leave kids at home to avoid unplanned purchases.

2. Compare prices between stores.

If living near various stores, consider shopping in a few stores and try to compare prices, available items, and sales. Shopping at two different stores may help in optimizing savings.

3. Buy bulk essential but non-perishable items.

Some stores help customers rack up savings when buying in bulk. If you are feeding a big family, consider joining a wholesale club. However, CNBC says that buying in bulk depends on the customer's cash flow.

4. Go for generic brands rather than popular branded items.

Branded items are often found at eye level, prompting customers to spend money on high-cost items. Opt for generic brands found at the bottom or top of the shelves. These brands are cheaper yet taste and work the same.

5. Buy items on sale.

Consider buying items on sale whenever possible. Look for on-sale items at prominent store locations such as the entrance or the end of the aisle.

6. Avoid pre-packaged or processed items.

Buying pre-cut veggies or pre-shredded cheese can save you time while cooking. It's more expensive as it charges you for convenience. Opt for whole items like block cheese and fresh veggies to save money.

7. Bring your own grocery bag.

Bring your reusable bags not just to help save the environment but to receive a discount on your purchases. Some stores offer a ten percent discount per bag you bring.
