17-Year-Old Shows His Quick Thinking Skills as He Helps His Neighbors Escape Fire Using Trampoline

Falon O'Regan, 17-year-old was about to go to sleep at around 1 in the morning on August 2, when he noticed some lights that are colored orange when he walked over the door, he witness flames all over the apartment.

After the fire broke out, the young boy sprang into action, grabbed his personal things, and jumped right into the window. The quick-thinking young man was now hailed as a new hero after the incident in an apartment near Pittsburgh.

According to O'Regan, he and his friend and neighbor downstairs, Robert, had to move the trampoline from the side of the house to the last three-bedroom which was located on the last part of the house because they would surely get hurt if they didn't do such.

Michael Goots, one of the residents who were rescued, told News 4 San Antonio, that when he looked at the window he saw a fire starting to enter the doorways and its coming to him. Hence, they have no other choice but to jump and so they did. Fire crews stated that the action displayed by the teenager prevented a lot of possible injuries. One person hurt their leg and three were rushed to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. Without the boy's resourcefulness, the result could have been a lot worse.

Becky as the proud mother of the new hailed hero

Fallon's mom, Becky William, said in a statement that she's beyond proud of her son as they are suffering losses due to the deaths of their cats but how her son respond to the incident that involves fire astonished her.

According to the fire officials, twelve adults and six kids were displaced as an outcome of the blaze and were being helped by the Red Cross. Fire Marshal is still investigating the main reason behind the fire and how much damage it caused.

Two dogs, two children, and two adults were able to escape the flames by jumping out of the window onto the trampoline. Although O'Regan admitted that his mind couldn't think of anything due to the panic he was experiencing, he is overwhelmed as many credited him for his heroic action and said there are no other words to explain the feeling.

According to Fox4News, the house is now unlivable and O'Regan is now staying at a hotel with his family. He set up a GoFundMe page to help with the expenses and took the opportunity to encourage others to help when they see others in distress and do the same thing.

Bentleyville is located about 30 miles south of Pittsburgh.

According to Insurance Information Institute, a fire department responded to a fire accident, may it be a huge or small fire, for approximately 23 seconds in the United States according to the National Fire Protection Association. The home fire was reported to occur every 89 seconds and can have death occur every three hours and twenty-four minutes and forty-six minutes occurrence for a home fire injury.
