Despite his royal duties as the second in line to the British throne, Prince William is making his children his top priority when they start attending a new school this September. The Duke of Cambridge is reportedly keen on taking Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis on school run.

According to The Sun, His Royal Highness will see to it that he is present for his children as he shares his parental duties with his wife, Catherine, more popularly known as Kate Middleton.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have chosen to send their children to Lambrook School in Ascot, which will be a 15-minute drive from their new home in Adelaide Cottage. Their four-bedroom house is part of Queen Elizabeth's estate at Windsor Castle.

Royal experts believe that William wants to signal to the Royal Family that his most important duty is as a father to his growing children. Since becoming a dad, William has been hands-on in raising the Cambridge kids with Catherine.

Why did the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge choose Lambrook School?

According to House Beautiful, Lambrook School is a top preparatory school in the U.K. with approximately 560 students between the ages of 3 to 13 years old. George, 9, Charlotte, 7, and Louis, 4, are not the first royals to go to the school as Queen Elizabeth's great-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria, had grandsons who attended the school in the late 1800s.

The institution is a boarding school but the Cambridge kids are going to be day students since their home is just a few miles away. Lambrook School has quite a catalog of extra-curricular activities including beekeeping, cookery, sewing, fencing and tap dancing. The school community has a strong policy against bullying.

George and Charlotte were previously students of Thomas's Battersea in London. Louis was attending Wilcox Nursery School in Norfolk but had to go to online classes due to the pandemic.

William and Catherine acknowledged their children's former schools for giving them a happy start. Ben Thomas, the school principal of Thomas's Battersea also thanked the Cambridges for their contributions to the school life and for upholding the school values. He wished the children good luck as they start in a new school.

Why did the Cambridges have to relocate from London?

Sources said that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge decided to relocate so their kids can still experience a normal life despite their pedigree as royals. One day, George will also become the king so his parents want him to experience a proper childhood before he embarks on his royal destiny, per CBS News.

However, William and Catherine will still make Kensington Palace their main office and will be staying there for a few months if they have work to do. The couple has another house in the country in Norfolk. Anmer Hall has 10 bedrooms and was a gift from Queen Elizabeth.
