Teen golfer Adele Sanford made golf history on Sunday, August 21, sinking two holes-in-one at a tournament in Canmore, according to Golf Digest.

Sanford did not expect to accomplish that feat over the weekend as she was just playing some steady golf over the first 11 holes of her round. She just wanted to get her ball on the green as she walked up to the 12th tee at the Canmore Golf & Curling Club.

It was the 14-year-old's first time playing in the club's annual two-day junior championship tournament, and Sanford was the last one in her group to tee off. Her playing partners had either landed on the green or just off it, and she just wanted to keep up with them with her tee shot.

Sanford shocked with her first hole-in-one

In an interview, Sanford told the Calgary Eyeopener that she double-checked her line a couple of times before hitting the ball. She said that when the ball was in the air, she was like, OK, that will be a good shot.

Sanford did not think for a second, though, that it was going in. No one in her group did until she heard someone say, "No way," from behind her. Sanford's majestic shot hit a great bounce and pulled in, leaving the teen in total shock.

Sanford said everyone cheered and jumped up and down around her as they celebrated her ace. Her group spread the word about her hole-in-one to others passing by as they continued to play their round.

Double the fun for Sanford as she records another ace minutes later

As she started the 15th hole, Sanford recalled someone saying that it would be crazy if she got another hole-in-one. This time, a bit of an audience had gathered to watch their group as they wanted to see if she could accomplish that improbable feat, according to the Calgary Herald.

Sanford lined up her shot and smacked the ball straight down the fairway. She said her tee shot just landed at the start of the green before pulling in for her second hole-in-one. Pandemonium ensued, with Sanford describing it as a crazy moment.

According to Darren Cooke, general manager and director of golf at the club, it was a moment that had never happened before, to his knowledge. He said the entire golf course exploded with excitement when news of the teen's two holes-in-one made the rounds.

He said he has been here for quite a few years and can't recall anything like that. Golfers dream about making a hole-in-one, but to make two in less than an hour? Cooke can only say holy smokes to that feat.

He added that Sanford's accomplishment is all the more impressive because the junior tournament was played on the same course used for the ladies club championship. The men's tournament's tees were placed farther back to make the holes longer, but the pin location remained the same, meaning the placement was not easy.
