Ken'Adi Nash, a six-year-old girl described how she saved herself from an alleged abduction attempt outside her house. The Ohio girl said she was just taking out the trash out when a man touched and pulled her. The young girl said she screamed at the top of her lungs, which she believed was what helped her got out of the incident.

"He just let go of me because I screamed," Ken'Adi said.

After the man let go of the girl's hands, the young girl ran inside her house. The family's doorbell camera captured the entire 10-second incident. The girl alerted her father, Ricky Nash, who jumped right into his car and chased the man as if he still had his kid. While running after the man, he called local authorities to inform them about the incident.

Ricky said that he didn't want the suspect to go snatch another kid. The father told Good Morning America that the kidnapper would not have let his kid go if she hadn't pulled and screamed as she did.

A traumatic, unforgettable incident for the kid and her family

Mandie Nash, Ricky's wife, said that the memory of the incident would always remain with them. The father said that when the cops finally handcuffed the man, it took so much of their anguish.

In an interview, the parents said they taught all of their four daughters to fight off an attacker and admitted that if it wasn't for their kid's quick action, the outcome could have been much worse. Mandie said she was proud of her daughter as her action worked, as soon as she screamed, the suspect let her go.

The mother recalled her daughter's expression when she told them about the incident. Her daughter ran into the living room and looked beyond terrified. She said someone tried to take her and even touched her private parts. Mandie said that's when she knew they needed to get the attacker as he violated their daughter.

The couple saw the suspect walking down the sidewalk and was later apprehended by the Hamilton Police. Deric McPherson, the 33-year-old suspect, was being held at the Butler County Jail and charged with a fifth-degree felony and inappropriate grabbing, KITV 4 reports.

Callahan Wash, a child advocate at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children said that Ken'Adi's response was so accurate as it saved her life. Wash praised the young girl's heroic action as she kicked, screamed, and pulled away. Those three are the ones we teach kids what to do when an abductor tries to get them.

Callahan suggested for parents to start discussing these matters with their children and give the exact details needed such as the full name of their parents, identifying houses they can go to when there is an emergency, phone number, and their home address.

The reality behind the cases of abductions

According to Kids Health, 25 percent of children are taken by someone they are not familiar with. Nearly kids who were abducted are taken by men and two-thirds involved female children.

There are about 2,100 missing-children reports filed each day in the United States. Cases can only be solved when parents provide details about how their kids look along with a recent photo.
