A 21-year-old Canadian TikTok influencer fell to her death while skydiving in Toronto late last month, according to reports north of the border.

College student Tanya Pardazi died on August 27 at Skydive Toronto. A friend told CTV News Toronto that was where she had completed a course before her first jump, which ultimately led to her tragic death.

According to the media outlet, Pardazi studied philosophy at the University of Toronto. She also had a huge following on social media as she ran a TikTok account with more than 100,000 followers.

What caused Pardazi's death?

The skydive facility requires students to complete a course in all the fundamentals needed to complete their first skydive. That includes learning about equipment, freefall body position (arch), canopy control, how to exit the airplane, and emergency protocol, before they take their first jumps from 4,000 feet, according to the facility's website.

The facility confirmed in a Facebook statement the death of their 21-year-old student, but they did not identify Pardazi by name. A representative for Skydive Toronto issued a statement through email, saying that out of respect for the family, they will not be releasing further details than what their statement had already included.

According to the Facebook statement, the skydiver released a quickly rotating main parachute at a low altitude without the time or altitude required for the reserve parachute to inflate. The statement added that the team at the facility had been profoundly affected by this accident as they have refined their student training program for over 50 years.

Pardazi's friends mourn her death

Skydive Toronto Inc is working with police, who confirmed the fatal incident in a statement on August 28, as they investigate the death. Friends of Pardazi said in an interview that she had made it to the semifinal round of a Miss Canada competition.

Her childhood friend Melody Ozgoli said that she was interested in anything new and adventurous. Ozgoli said Pardazi lived every second to the fullest. She added that this is the biggest shock to them and is tough to process. She said it had been a couple of days, but they still couldn't believe it.

The University of Toronto's cheerleading team also paid tribute to Pardazi in an Instagram post, according to NBC News. The caption read that she is forever part of their team and in their hearts and that Tanya Pardazi was one in a million.

According to Pardazi's friends, she died while completing her first solo dive with Skydive Toronto in Innisfil, Ontario. The TikTok star was transported to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Kimia Sepanlou, a close friend of Pardazi, said that she was one of the bravest girls and that whenever they saw her, they knew they were in for an adventure because she did not like letting herself or the people closest to her get bored.
