Netflix just announced its newest line of preschool series for its youngest viewers, and it's an exciting and fun-filled set of new characters and friends from seven shows.

One of these seven shows includes an empowering tale about princesses, embracing differences and the beautiful power of coming together as one entitled "Princess Power," premiering in 2023.

This will be an animated series adapted from the No.1 New York Times Bestselling book series "Princesses Wear Pants," written by Savannah Guthrie, co-anchor of Today, mother, attorney, and legal analyst, and Allison Oppenheim, parent educator and mother of three.

'Celebration of Girl Power & Self-Expression'

The new show for kids will highlight and celebrate "girl power and self-expression."

Princess Penelope Pineapple, the famous character of the book, tags along three other princesses, namely Kira Kiwi, Beatrice "Bea" Blueberry, and Rita Raspberry from the four fruit kingdoms. The show will follow their unique and inspiring adventures as they come in unity and work as a team to help their fellow "fruitizens" and make not only their kingdoms but the world a better place to live in.

"Princess Power' is a light, fun, whimsical story that will teach the young viewers that "it's not just what you wear but what you do that makes all the difference," Netflix shared.

Netflix assured parents that the show would have age-appropriate content and prioritized creating a safe and trusted space for their children as they have fun, play, rest, discover, and explore alongside their favorite and well-loved colorful characters.

'The animation is beautiful'

Guthrie's bestselling book for kids co-author cannot help her excitement about the upcoming animated series, especially since it will be released and aired on Netflix.

Also, the executive producer, she promised that the animation is going to be beautiful and described it as "cute," with all these princesses coming together to solve one problem at a time while all dressed up and in fashion.

She told Today Parents that they have been working so hard for this project that she could not help but be so proud of it and grateful to the entire team for it.

It can be recalled that the authors got the idea for the book from their daughters, who were so obsessed with being princesses. But, the major push or sign to make it a book is a photo of the real-life royalty princess, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, wearing pants to a rugby match.

The book title "Princesses Wear Pants" immediately sparked Guthrie.

Along with "Princess Powers," the newest line of shows for pre-schoolers includes recent seasons from "CoComelon," "Gabby's Dollhouse," and "Teletubbies," and new characters of the Spirit Rangers. All these kid-friendly programs will be released this year except for "CoComelon Lane," which will also premiere next year, alongside "Princess Powers."
