Charlie Woods made his famous father proud, posting a career-low round of 68 at a qualifier for the Notah Begay III Junior National Golf Championship at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida, on Sunday, September 25. His dad was there to see it all unfold as Tiger Woods was the one carrying his son's clubs, according to Golf.com.

After shooting a 1-over 37 on the front nine, Charlie came out firing on the back nine. He racked up two birdies and nabbed an eagle on the par-5 14th hole to record a 68. He came so close to recording an albatross on the 14th hole, but his second shot agonizingly lipped out, with Charlie settling for a tap-in eagle.

While most teen golf hopefuls are lucky to have a parent or devoted coach cheering for them from the cart path, Charlie played his final round with the help and guidance of a 15-time major winner on the bag.

Tiger told Charlie to stay patient in the final round

In a post-round interview, Charlie said his dad told him to stay patient and just play steady golf. Charlie added that Tiger told him to focus on each shot and not look too far ahead. The golf legend also reminded his son to stay in the game.

That he did as Charlie would go on to finish tied for fourth in the Boys 12-13 division for the tournament, according to PGATour.com. He scored 4-over-par for 36 holes in the event. The winner on the weekend of the combined boys' competition was Ukrainian Misha Golod.

The 15-year-old finished with a two-day score of 144. Golod grabbed the headlines earlier this year after he was invited as an honorary observer at the Players Championship. Misha and his mom Vita fled Kyiv, Ukraine, because of the Russian invasion.

Tiger and Charlie dazzle crowds at PNC Championship

Charlie and Tiger have played together the last two years at the PNC Championship, a team event in Orlando, Florida. Major champions compete alongside a member of their family in this tournament. Tiger and Charlie are expected to compete again in this year's PNC Championship, which is scheduled for December 15 to 18.

Team Woods wowed the crowds in the final round of last year's event, shooting 15-under 57 in the two-man scramble format at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, according to Golf Week. They reeled off a tournament record 11 consecutive birdies to make a run at the title. Their birdie barrage was not enough, however, to catch John Daly and his son John II who won the title with a 27-under total of 117.

Charlie stole the show in the final round, with the then-12-year-old hitting a series of beautiful irons on the back nine, particularly at the par-3 12th and 17th holes. His 5-iron on the 17th was a thing of beauty as it landed just five feet away from the pin, the closest all day.
