For Ashley Desanno, simply finishing a half marathon was not enough to impress her young son. The Portland mom of two left the internet in stitches thanks to a recent video she shared with her TikTok community of more than a million followers.

Desanno said in the now-viral video about Durham's show-and-tell recap that her younger son had to do weekend news. That is where he writes about his weekend and how it went. The 42-year-old said that sometimes there is a really cute little gem in there, like "I ate pizza with my mom," and it makes her heart happy.

That was not the case this week, as Desanno shared that her son said his mom ran a half marathon, and she did very well for old people. Durham was not finished with his brutal review, with the nine-year-old saying in his weekend update that the bigger victory was she did not pee or poop her pants.

Desanno's video goes viral on TikTok

The hilarious video, which has racked up nearly 250,000 views on the social media platform TikTok and more than 15,000 likes, had mothers nodding their heads. One commenter wrote that she could totally see her son writing something like this. Another parent commented that she understands the struggle.

Desanno told TODAY Parents in an interview that Durham is the type of kid who does not use his folders. When the mother stumbled upon her son's weekend recap paper in his backpack, she was eager to read it. When she read it, she said, "Well, this is fantastic." She said that her son's teacher saw this, and he read this to the people at his table.

Desanno's sons not impressed with her marathon races

The Portland-based mom is no stranger to running marathon races, having completed 11 of them before. Desanno had also finished around 50 half marathons since she began racing back in 2005.

Desanno said her sons are typically unimpressed with her marathon feats, with the boys asking her questions such as "Did you throw up? Did you fall over? Did you go to the bathroom? Desanno said those were the questions her kids wanted to know after every race.

Desanno said her sons also know that going to the bathroom while running is perfectly normal. She said her boys know that she pees a little every run. She explained that every woman who has had a vaginal birth would pee her pants, especially if she is over 40. Desanno said the second she comes home from a run; she has to change her shorts and pants.

Both of her sons love to tease her while driving in the car, with the two kids pointing out port-o-potties to her. The avid runner hopes the video she posted normalizes for runners and mothers that it is OK to talk about the messy side of things.
