United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reported that a product recall was issued for Mockingbird Single-to-Double Strollers. This product is made of aluminum and is black or silver. The seats are black, while the canopies are available in black, dark blue, light blue, light green, and pink. The recall includes Mockingbird Single-to-Double Strollers with lot numbers between 20091 and 22602. A lot number is a five-digit number on the white label located on the inner left side of the stroller frame near the top of the basket.

The Commission mainly protects the public from unreasonable risks of serious injury or death from thousands of consumer products under its jurisdiction, including those that pose chemical, electrical, fire, or mechanical hazard or injures children. The firm has already received 138 reports of cracks in the frame, resulting in eight injuries - cuts, scratches, or bruising to kids from using the strollers.

Thus, consumers are warned to stop using the recalled product and contact Mockingbird directly to obtain a free frame reinforcement kit - two frame clamps attached to the sides of the strollers to reinforce the frame. On the other hand, Mockingbird is now contacting all known purchasers directly.

Why should strollers be sturdy?

A stroller is one of the must-haves for parents with children. This baby item is helpful as it can be used as a place for your baby to rest and sleep. It also gives the child a safe place to sit. Thus, parents, including carers, won't have to carry them all day. However, not all strollers are safe for your child. A stroller must be sturdy to prevent abusive head trauma, which occurs when someone uses force to shake a child or throw or drop a child.

When buying a stroller, a few basic features should be included in the specific model and factors you must consider for your child's safety.

  • Five-point harness: to keep your child secure in the seat and prevent them from slipping out even when you're going through tight spaces and over bumps.
  • Lock system: for the stroller to stay close and the baby to remain secure when it's not used.
  • Suspension system: to reduce bounce and ensure a smooth ride for your child.
  • Braking system: that would be easy to use and secure, so the stroller would remain in place while placing items in the storage compartment, per House of Coco.

Strollers are comfortable for babies

Most babies enjoy being in strollers as they can move and rest while at the same time exploring the world around them as their parents bring them to different places.

Moreover, strollers are best when traveling, as kids only toddle slowly. Thus, if you want to go places on foot, strollers are the most suggested baby item for you as they will allow you to move quickly while at the same time bringing your baby. You can wear your baby; however, their weight can strain your shoulders and back after several hours of carrying them, Have Baby Will Travel says.
