5-Year-Old Boy Calls 911 After Lee's Summit Mom Suddenly Goes Into Labor

A mom from Lee's Summit managed to deliver her baby at home, but it took a total team effort for her to give birth safely. Jalessa Young said that she could not have done it without her brave 5-year-old son and the emergency responders who arrived to help with the delivery.

She said that she is just grateful, and what a time to be thankful, for the paramedics who came, the fire department who came, her son and then her husband who showed up.

Jalessa paid tribute to her 5-year-old son King. The boy surely deserves a crown after he called 911 when his mother went into labor at their house. There was not enough time to get Jalessa to the hospital, but her son King was a superhero throughout the entire delivery.

Couple surprised with baby's early appearance

Thanks to King's help, his brother Prince Young made an unforgettable entrance into the world just a couple of days before Thanksgiving. Jalessa and her husband Jared Young were not expecting their baby for two more weeks.

Jalessa told Fox2Now that all of a sudden, her water broke and her son came in the room because her husband was at work. King took charge, telling his mom that he is going to call the ambulance. Jalessa said yes to King's statement, telling him to call the ambulance as this is an emergency.

Thanks to the quick thinking of young King, Lee's Summit paramedics showed up just in time for the delivery. They had nothing to worry about as King said he was taking care of his mother. Only 15 minutes after Jalessa's water broke, she had a new baby.

Jared paid tribute to his wife, saying that she is a soldier. He added that she had the baby at the house and it was just amazing. He said that he was just very surprised and her wife was shocked. adding that they were all in awe.

King wins best big brother award

King was in complete control of the situation, though, as he had the operator on one line and his father on the other. He was the one who opened the door for emergency responders when they arrived. He got the towels ready to go and made sure his mother was as comfortable as she could be without being in the hospital with medicine she thought she was going to have.

Jared said that he really stepped in and was mommy's superhero to make sure that his baby brother was here and that his mommy was safe. King was proud of his achievement, saying he feels fantastic.

Jared said King has already won the crown for best big brother. He said that his son did an excellent job and he was super, duper proud of him. King and his younger brother Prince were bound to be best friends in the future, but this dramatic delivery solidified the deal. King can't wait for his mother to bring his baby brother home so that they can play together.
