Respectful parenting has become the top approach to producing highly successful kids.

Parenting approaches can vary in numerous ways. Some parents take culture, tradition, and new studies into consideration when it comes to raising their children.

CNBC's Margot Machol Bisnow interviewed 70 parents of successful adult entrepreneurs in different fields to know the best parenting approach that guarantees success for children as they become adults.

Bisnow figured that regardless of culture, religion, and socio-economic backgrounds, these parents have one thing in common regarding raising their kids - respectful parenting.

What is Respectful Parenting?

The practice of "respectful parenting" is a relatively new concept away from the traditionally popular rearing approaches such as permissive, authoritative, and authoritarian parenting styles.

Nowadays, numerous parents are moving farther away from practicing parenting approaches the previous generation used.

EtonHouse states that respectful parenting is a new practice of parenting that aims to rear their child in a way where they are seen, heard, and considered. It emphasizes recognizing the unique individuality of each child.

In this approach, parents do not try to dictate what their kids are curious about or how they express themselves. It is essential to see children as independent, rational beings.

It eliminates the traditional practice of dismissing a child's voice and discouraging one-way communication from their parents.

This parenting style does not promote conflict but does not avoid conflict. It accepts all of a child's emotions as valid.

Respectful parenting allows children to make their own choices. However, the decisions that the child will make are within the bounds of the structure that the parents have drawn out.

The parenting approach guides children through how things can be done better. Boundaries and expectations are laid out in this approach, which expects children to do tasks even if they are challenging.

What sets Respectful Parenting apart?

The respectful parenting style emphasizes giving children the ample support they need. It also means trusting the child's judgment, despite their young age.

Instead of telling a child what to do or what not to do, it supports them in realizing their dreams and aspirations and has an open discussion about the reasons behind their decisions.

It analyzes, discusses, and debates choices, making them feel like an adult instead of a child.

It also means trusting a child's judgment, trusting that even if they fail or make a mistake, the child will be fine after, as hurdles like these are inevitable in life.

According to SBS, the main priority of parentings respectfully is to raise children that are independent.

In respectful parenting, children are given the right to their point of view. Another distinction is that they are encouraged to be unique by not constantly correcting their actions or speech.

In this parenting approach, parents must build trust with their children and let them know when they can turn to them for help.

Despite their independence, it is still vital for parents to give their children the ample warmth needed to cultivate a safe space that will allow them to thrive and grow into successful adults.

Making quality time by participating in compassionate activities benefits both parents and children.

These are the numerous ways why parents are using respectful parenting as an approach to producing successful kids.
