After getting married in September 2017, the singer filed for divorce from husband in September 2020, but two months later, she dismissed the case. Now, she is ready to share why.

In an interview from the upcoming debut episode of The Jason Lee Show,  Cardi B spoke about the difficult time in her marriage with 31-year-old rapper Offset and finally opened up about their dismissed divorce, their reconciliation, and how they got through it all together.

The 30-year-old told the host of the show that her husband "altered his behavior" because he wanted the marriage to work, People reported.

"The main thing that I wanted him to stop and everything, he stopped and he changed, and it showed me that he wanted to change for me," Cardi declared, also adding that he "fought" for the family.

'Irreconcilable differences'

The couple got married in September 2017, and then welcomed their daughter Kulture Kiari, the next year in July.

Come 2018, both had a series of break-ups and reconciliations despite the rumors of Offset's alleged infidelity. Then in September 2020, Cardi filed for divorce for the reason of "irreconcilable differences."

Cardi recalled in the exclusive interview how she and her husband were not seeing "eye-to-eye" anymore, which made her decide on the divorce.

A month after the divorce was filed, Cardi took to Twitter and called out fans who were saying that Offset was "abusive" and that she was in an "abusive" relationship.

In two Twitter audio clips, she said that she has choices in her relationship. She is not in a physically abusive relationship nor was she in a mentally abusive one.

She's 'never been happier'

The public went shookt on November 2020 when the divorce case was announced to be "dismissed without prejudice," and the couple got back once again.

The performer then admitted many reasons for dismissing the divorce, E!News shared. First, that it was just to teach her husband a lesson. Second, that she missed him, finding it hard not to be able to talk to her bestfriend. Third, that they were just two people who got married young and early, and are just experiencing marital problems that are not different from everyone else.

Cardi told Lee that she would allow Offset to tell his side of the story and reveal "the main thing that was really bothering" her. But on her part, the ultimate reason for getting back together was that her husband wanted to change for her and the marriage, and that she saw the changes right before her eyes.

On the fourth of September, 2021, the couple welcomed their second child and first son, Wave.

Cardi told E!'s Daily Pop on November, 2021 that she and Offset are happy, having been able to worked through and overcome the hardest obstacles in their marriage.

She also emphasized how she has "never been happier," not only with the marriage but also with the family, unity and the friendship that they now share has never been stronger.
