Police officials in Columbus, Ohio, received a report of an infant in a life-threatening situation. They arrived at a home on East Whittier Street and found a 6-month-old Ky'air Thomas lifeless and not breathing.

The infant was sent to Children's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:44 P.M.

Baby Ky'air Thomas' tragic death

The tragic death of Thomas left everyone in shock and sadness since he and his twin brother, Kason, were recently returned to their parents after being kidnapped.

According to NBC, Ky'air and Kason were kidnapped last month when a woman stole a car with the two boys inside. Thankfully, both boys were found alive and returned to their mother.

Despite efforts to revive the child, Ky'air was pronounced dead at Children's Hospital. The cause of death has not yet been revealed, but the police department is investigating it.

However, KIRO7 reported that the twin's family members said Ky'air's death resulted from a feeding accident. According to the aunt of the twins' mother, Wilma Booker, her children explained what allegedly happened.

The mother of the twins, Wilhelmina "Momo" Barnett, was feeding her babies when one of them, Ky'air, started choking on the milk. The mother immediately called 911 and attempted to do chest compressions and CPR, but unfortunately, it was too late.

Booker stated that, no matter how sad it was, Ky'air's death was just an accident and nothing more.

The parents of the twins were devastated and found it even more difficult to process since they had already been through a traumatic experience, the kidnapping.

The infants' kidnapping

According to Fox News, Nalah Jackson, 24, was charged with criminal offenses in two states: felony battery of bodily waste and two counts of kidnapping in Ohio.

After a three-day search, she was found on December 22, 2022. The police had been searching for Jackson since December 19, when she allegedly stole a vehicle from a Columbus Donato's Pizza while the boys' mother was inside picking up an order for a DoorDash delivery.

One of the twin boys, Ky'air Thomas, was found abandoned but safe at the Dayton International Airport, nearly 70 miles from the pizza restaurant.

The other twin, Kason Thomas, was missing until December 22, when the vehicle Jackson was found parked outside a Papa Johns in Indianapolis.
