"Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe is going to be a dad!

A representative for the actor confirmed the news, revealing that he and his longtime girlfriend, Erin Drake, are expecting their first child.

The couple has been dating for more than 10 years since starring as love interests in the 2013 movie "How to Kill Your Darlings."

Keeping their relationship relatively private, the couple made a rare red carpet appearance together last year at the New York City premiere of Radcliffe's film, "The Lost City."

Prior to that, they hadn't made a red carpet appearance since the 2014 Tony Awards.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Radcliffe previously opened up to Playboy magazine about falling for Darke while filming an intimate scene together in the movie, stating that he knew he was in trouble when she made him laugh.

The couple's announcement has sparked excitement among fans, who are eagerly waiting for the new addition to the Radcliffe-Drake family.

But aside from the baby news, there's also news about the couple that's gaining attention and has fans gushing over it.

Writing Together in the Future?

Radcliffe and Drake are not only actors but also writers. The idea of them potentially working together in writing has intrigued many fans.

In a 2022 interview, Radcliffe spoke about their experience working together on the 2016 movie "Don't Think Twice" and season 3 of his TBS series "Miracle Workers," stating that it was incredibly special and felt lovely.

However, he also noted that it was more of a sporadic occurrence and that they didn't want to do it all the time.

Radcliffe went on to suggest that they might collaborate on writing something together in the future. The "Harry Potter" actor stated that they definitely like working together, but it's not something they want to do all the time.

Hopefully, they will get to do more in the future; Radcliffe and Drake also both write. Radcliffe said that both of them writing together at some point would be a possibility, and he is very positive about the idea.

A Life Outside of the Limelight

Despite being one of the biggest stars of the "Harry Potter" franchise, Radcliffe has managed to keep his private life out of the spotlight.

In a 2022 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he reflected on why his private life doesn't usually make headlines, attributing it to the fact that he doesn't do anything interesting enough.

Radcliffe expressed that he simply desires to live his life, spend time with his loved ones, and have his work be the center of attention as an actor.

While the couple has kept their relationship low-key, Radcliffe has expressed his desire for his future children to be around film sets.

Despite his own fame and success, Radcliffe has made it clear that he doesn't want his future children to be in the limelight.

While he would love for his kids, if and when they exist, to be around film sets and possibly even work in the industry, he has emphasized that he doesn't want them to become famous.

According to HuffPost, Radcliffe believes that film sets can be wonderful places for children, but the negative aspects of fame should be avoided at all costs.

This sentiment highlights his desire to protect his children from the potentially harmful effects of celebrity culture, while still exposing them to the positive experiences and opportunities that the film industry can offer.

As fans eagerly await the arrival of Radcliffe and Drake's first child, it remains to be seen if the couple will work together again on the big screen or in writing.

But one thing is for sure-the new addition to their family is sure to bring more joy and excitement to their already happy life together.
