Dell XPS 15, XPS 13, XPS 12 vs Microsoft Surface Pro 4: How Does Dell's Hybrid Tablet Match Up [Review, Specs & Price]

Dell announced three new updated products for its XPS product line Thursday, and it also unveiled a new hybrid tablet. The latest items from this company are said to be a good match for Microsoft Surface, according to ZD Net.  Check for the specs and other details below:

Dell XPS 15

The XP 15, used by those who like larger laptops, received a new look and feel, with its 15.6-inch Infinity Display now dialed down to 14 inches, according to Anand Tech. The screen, a 4K Ultra HD model, is sharp at 282 pixels per inch with a 350-nit brightness rating. It also the widest Adobe RGB color space selection compared to other notebooks, said the news outlet. A PremierColor Software comes with the screen display.

Though the chasis has become smaller, the Infinity Display's performance remains the same. The XP 15 also comes with an optional spinning drive or a 1 TB PCIe SSDs. Battery power for this device is also offered with two options, 56 Wh or 84 Wh battery, with the larger expectedly lasting 17 hours of use.

Dell XPS 13

Dell has leveled up the XPS 13 with a Core i3-6100U and Core i7-6600U. Its memory has also been upgraded, going as far as 16 GB of LPDDR3, while storage also gets major additions. The 128 GB model is still featured with a SATA based SSD, but the other models - 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB - make use of PCIe versions. As Anand Tech puts it, the XPS 13 has mostly received an "evolutionary update."

According to Ars Technica, the XPS 15 and XPS 13 will be replacing models released at the beginning of the year. Price points start at $799 for the XPS 13 and $999 for XPS 15. They are already available for order.

Dell XPS 12

Meanwhile, the XPS 12 is very comparable to Microsoft's Surface Pro 4, which was also just released by the tech company. According to Gizmodo, the glaring difference between the XPS 12 from Surface Pro 4 is its keyboard base, which has a solid hold and doesn't have any hinge mechanism.

The XPS comes with a 12.5 inch screen display and runs on an Intel 2.7GHz Core M5 processor. There is an option for a 4K model for the screen as well, if users prefer the higher end. Storage and memory capacity for this laptop are at 128GB and 8GB RAM. Price is set at $1,000, but for an additional $300, you can get the model with slightly higher specs.
