Abby Bailiff, a 28-year-old resident of Thomasville, North Carolina, accomplished a remarkable feat by receiving her doctorate degree and giving birth to her first child within a mere 24 hours. The extraordinary series of events unfolded as Bailiff delivered her son Bodie on May 3 at 3:08 p.m.

Initially, Bailiff had been increasingly anxious as her due date of April 27 approached, knowing that her graduation ceremony from the UNC Greensboro School of Nursing was scheduled for May 4. Recognizing concerns about Bodie's lung development, doctors induced Bailiff on May 2. According to Good Morning America, although it was not her original plan to be in such close proximity to her graduation, Bailiff's son had other ideas.

Fortunately, the delivery of Bodie went smoothly, free from complications, according to ABC News. After spending the night in the hospital, Bailiff and her newborn were discharged the following day, on May 4.
