Best Buy recalls have made headlines as the company initiates a large-scale safety recall for almost a million of its Insignia Multi-Function pressure cookers.

The primary concern revolves around the burn risks they pose due to inaccurate volume markings.

The current recall involves a staggering 930,000 units of the Insignia Multi-Function Pressure Cookers, which were available for purchase between October 2017 and June 2023.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has been proactive in addressing this concern. They recommend that users ensure the inner pot is not filled beyond its two-thirds capacity when in use.

Another crucial guideline is to ensure that the lid is securely locked during cooking and that it is only opened once the valve on the lid indicates that the contents are no longer under pressure.

In response to the situation, Best Buy has expressed deep concern over the safety of its customers. The company has initiated outreach to consumers who have purchased the affected Insignia Multi-Function products.

They are offering guidance on acquiring the appropriate replacement parts. For added convenience and assistance, Best Buy has set up a dedicated helpline at 800-566-7498 for this recall.

The pressure cookers in question bear specific model numbers to help consumers identify them: NS-MC60SS8, NS-MC60SS9, NS-MC80SS9 for the cookers, and NS-MCRP6NS9 and NS-MCRP6SS9 for the inner pots.

Owners of these models are strongly advised to discontinue their use immediately. The recalled Insignia Multi-Function pressure cookers and the respective inner pots were not exclusive to physical Best Buy stores.

They were also available on several online platforms, notably Best Buy's official website and Amazon. For those who possess the affected products, Best Buy is offering a free inner pot replacement along with a new pressurized valve.

However, it's noteworthy that Best Buy will not process refunds or replacements for pressure cookers brought directly to their brick-and-mortar stores.

Instead, all claims and registrations for this recall must be initiated and completed online. In light of the Best Buy recalls, consumers are urged to remain vigilant and prioritize safety.
