Neighbor Catiria Delgado expressed profound regret at narrowly missing the chance to help, recounting how she had left her home just minutes before the tragic incident unfolded. The shock and devastation reverberated not only within the family but throughout the entire neighborhood.

Authorities revealed that the family owned two dogs, both described as large breeds, possibly including a pitbull/dalmatian mix. Following the incident, both dogs were placed under quarantine at an animal shelter in South Windsor as investigations into the circumstances continued.
