Carrie Underwood Weight Loss: Singer Admits Using Diet Pills, 'It Wasn't The Best Way'; New Mom Loving Post-Baby Figure [Photos]

After winning "American Idol" nearly ten years ago, Carrie Underwood revealed that she had body issues and handled this the wrong way. Speaking with People Magazine, the award-winning singer and new mom admitted that she took weight loss pills then.

"I was taking things with ephedra in it," said Underwood in the interview. "It wasn't the best way. If I could go back and talk to myself I'd be like, 'Here's how you do it the right way.' "

Carrie took the pills because she thought she was overweight. When she tried to change her appearance and got compliments for it, the body issues got worse. "People immediately go, 'You look so great!' Then you start wondering, 'How bad did I look before?' Then it's like, 'Well, I guess I should keep on going.' Then you start eating less."

Fortunately for Carrie, she didn't have any serious problems with taking the diet pills, nor developed an eating disorder. But that is all behind her now as Carrie has made a complete lifestyle change, especially after giving birth to her son. "After I had Isaiah, my goal was to take control of my body again. I was lucky: I gained only 30 pounds, which is the recommended amount, and I exercised throughout my pregnancy," Carrie said, according to Shape Magazine, where she is featured for their November issue.

Carrie exercises on an almost daily basis today, which is why she was inspired to create her own workout line, Calia by Carrie Underwood. "I like wearing clothes that look just as good on the street as they do at the gym. I've always been an athletic-wear fanatic, but everything I owned was either super-functional and not cute, or really frilly and not right for my workout," she said, according to Daily Mail.

The 32-year-old singer admits she weighs more now than when she was thinner, but it's only because her body has more muscle tones. "For some reason, I feel leaner after," she told People. "It's really strange the way my body has reacted to exercise after having him. I feel like my bum's a little nicer than it used to be."
