HTC One A9 Leak: Specs, Price Revealed Ahead Of Oct 20 Release Date -- What You Need To Know [Rumors]

Just when you thought that mobile company HTC will do a great move by releasing the HTC One A9 slated to save the company from its current business crisis, the alleged “hero” phone actually looks like a copy of some other phone known to the public as the iPhone 6.

According to BGR, an “accident” made by French carrier Orange leaked specs and details regarding the HTC One A9, a.k.a. “Aero.” However, many took advantage of it before the website listing was taken down.

BGR reports that HTC, after having a flop with the One M9, might even be sued into “oblivion” for the new phone. It mimics the look of the Apple handset, with the glass curves in front; to the plastic antenna lines and metal ring that surrounds the protruding camera at the back.

Slash Gear reports that Orange also revealed some hardware specs for the hero phone. It's reportedly a mid-range smartphone compared to other flagships this year. It will sport a 5-inch 1080p resolution touchscreen, and is equipped with a low 13-megapixel rear camera, and an even lower 4-megapixel front camera.

More surprising is the high price that it was listed for. The device's full price was listed at 599.90 EUR, which is roughly equivalent to $688. Would you pay that price for a mid-range iPhone 6-looking HTC phone?

According to GSM Arena, the phone was benchmarked earlier in September, and also just recently. The specs for both benchmarks are reportedly different from each other.

In September, Geekbench recorded the phone's specs as follows:

The One A9 runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, and is powered by a deca-core Helio X20 Chipset from MediaTek. Of the ten cores, two are Cortex-A72 cores, while eight are Cortex-A53s. It has 4GB of RAM.

Another run, this time on GFXBench shows different specs:

GFXBench shows that the One A9 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and is powered by a SnapDragon 615. The 615 is a 1.5GHz octa-core processor, with Cortex-A53s for all cores. It only has a measly 2GB of RAM.

Everyone who wants to know the real specs and performance capabilities of HTC's hero phone will just have to wait until it is released.

HTC will have the launch event on Oct. 20. For now, fans will have to think well if this phone is worth the buy, or worth a goodbye.
