'Jurassic World 2' Release Date & Trailer: Bryce Dallas Howard Confirms One Major Change, Guess What Won't Be In The Sequel!

Considering the massive success of "Jurassic World," it was no surprise when Universal Studios announced a sequel to the science fiction adventure film that brought gigantic dinosaurs to the big screen. According to a report from Cinema Blend, "Jurassic World 2" is scheduled to be released on June 22, 2018. With the news of the sequel, Bryce Dallas Howard, who plays the role of Claire Dearing, lets us in on one "big change" to her character.

In an interview with Collider, Howard expressed her surprise on the attention her character got from having "poor footwear choices." In "Jurassic World," the third highest-grossing movie of the year, Dearing could be seen running away from the dinosaurs in the island while in high heels, which elicited a lot of reaction from the public. When "Jurassic World's" director Colin Trevorrow spilled the beans to Howard, he even texted the actress using a funny hashtag about the controversial footwear.

She said, "The way that [Director] Colin [Trevorrow] told me that the sequel was happening, when it got greenlit, and that I was going to be in it, he texted me #NoHeels2018. And I was like, 'Yeah, boy!'"

Indeed, during the interview, Howard revealed that in "Jurassic World 2," Dearing would have a more sensible choice of footwear. She even told Collider that "it was really hard running in heels all the time," adding how she anticipated the viewers to notice it as it "stood out" to her too.

However, in defense of her wearing high heels and the controversy that followed it, the actress explained that it was in line with her character because Dearing, the parks operation manager of Jurassic World, was the kind of woman that opted heels for flats every time. She never intended to run in the jungle, and wearing flats only for that scene would be a "cheat" to Dearing's characterization.

"Claire never thought that she was gonna end up traipsing through the jungle," Howard added.

As per Cinema Blend, Trevorrow hinted on what fans could expect for "Jurassic World 2." He said that the sequel, who will also star Chris Pratt, will center on the rivalry between two companies that grow dinosaurs and how these creatures are reared to serve as "weapons and soldiers for the government." HNGN notes that Trevorrow will not be directing "Jurassic World 2" as he will take on the director's seat for "Star Wars: Episode IX." However, he will still be involved in "Jurassic World 2" as a producer.
