Tom Hardy, Charlotte Riley Welcome First Child -- Find Out More!

"The Legend" actor Tom Hardy and his wife Charlotte Riley have reportedly welcomed their first child. According to Daily Mail, the announcement of the baby's birth comes only seven weeks after the world found out the couple was expecting.

No one knew that Hardy and his wife were having a baby until people saw them on the red carpet during "The Legend's" premiere in London in early September. Dressed in a black maxi dress, it was hard not to notice Riley's baby bump, but just as they have kept mum about the pregnancy, they also gave no detail about baby's due date, or whether they were expecting a boy or a girl. Only few days prior to giving birth, the couple were seen strolling the streets of London, with their hands clasped together, according to another Daily Mail report.

This is the second child for Tom who has a seven-year-old boy, Louis, with former girlfriend Rachael Speed. He said once in an interview after Louis was born that fatherhood has given him purpose. He also said that having a son gave him direction going through failed relationships, several rejections in his career and addiction. "[It] makes you think more carefully about how you live your life. I made a lot of mistakes and I put my mum and dad through a lot because they were so worried about me," the actor told Hello.

"I take great pride in being a father and make sure I'm there for him and helping him as he makes his way in the world."

Since having a son, the 37-year-old dad recognizes that being a parent made him think of himself less. "I was very self-indulgent for a long time and I was only thinking about my own stupid stuff and myself. Having a child lifts you out of that selfish behavior," according to Mirror.

Hardy got engaged to Riley in 2010, after meeting on the set of "Wuthering Heights" a year before. Then they secretly married in July 2014 at the South of France, according to Us Weekly.

Meanwhile, the "Mad Max" actor will be seen in the film "The Revenant" with Leonardo DiCaprio next. The movie will open on Dec. 25 in a limited release, according to Cinema Blend, and it is expected to become an Oscar contender.

Hardy is also expected to reprise his role for "Mad Max: The Wasteland," the sequel to "Fury Road." According to Variety, the actor is attached to at least three more movies from the franchise.
