Rebel Wilson vs The Kardashians: Oprah Winfrey Defends 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' Clan - What Did She Say?

Following Rebel Wilson's slamming of the Kardashian family, as previously reported on Parent Herald, the KUWTK clan found an ally in the influential media personality Oprah Winfrey.

Oprah spoke with the very same radio hosts Wilson spoke to when she dissed the reality TV family, per Aces Showbiz. "I interviewed the Kardashians maybe [around] two years ago and I couldn't believe how hard they work," the Queen of Talk said in the Australian morning program "The Kyle and Jackie O Show" Monday. "People think it's just TV cameras just following you, then, you know, that's just easy. [But] to really create a reality series that looks like something actually happening, it means you have to be on all the time."

Oprah also described the family's hectic schedule, recalling how the Kardashians filmed with her for seven hours for "The Oprah Winfrey Show." "They were going to tape for another seven hours after I left," she said. "No matter who you are...That is work," she added.

The 61-year-old TV host also described the Kardashian-Jenners as "their own iconic phenom," per News Corp Australia. The news outlet reported that Oprah is set to visit the country next month for her "An Evening With Oprah" tour.

Wilson's comments drew some reactions when she told Kyle and Jackie that she refused to present with Kendall and Kylie Jenner for the MTV Video Music Awards last summer. The Australian actress also called the sisters "talentless" and "superficial," and said that older sister Kim Kardashian specifically achieved her fame because of a sex tape.

Meanwhile, Oprah did cite another actress who's the direct opposite of the Kardashian-Jenners and failed to work hard for her reality TV show. The media personality said Lindsay Lohan was the type of person who was not comfortable doing a docu-series, per Vanity Fair. "She's one of those people who said, 'oh yes, sure, I'll have the cameras follow me' and then when you realize how much work that really is ... you know how much acting you got to do to make it look real?" said Oprah.

Lindsay starred in a TV documentary on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) back in 2014, but it was canceled due to poor ratings, per Daily Mail.  Insiders revealed that Oprah also didn't like Lindsay's work ethics. "The series has simply showed that Lindsay is a long way from returning to Hollywood. And her attitude towards the advice and help Oprah gave her seemed to be ignored in the main," the source said.
