Jay-Z Squashes Rumors That Beyoncé Is Pregnant

Although there has been much speculation that superstar Beyonce is pregnant with her second child, a friend of her husband Jay-Z spoke with New York's Hot 97 and reported that Jay himself squashed the rumors in an email.

Although E! News and the New York Times "confirmed" the news that the singer was pregnant, citing multiple insider sources, Beyoncé herself has not confirmed the pregnancy, according to ABC News.

Fans spotted the star with an alleged baby bump at one of her concerts, and the singer later canceled her show in Belgium as part of her Mrs. Carter World Tour Show reportedly due to "dehydration and exhaustion," further fueling rumors that she was secretly pregnant. The day after Beyoncé posted a handwritten apology on Facebook to her fans. "I'm feeling much better now and I'm ready to give you a great show," she wrote.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z kept their first pregnancy a secret from the media until the last minute, when Beyoncé showed off her unmistakable baby bump to a shocked crowd at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.

When Program Director Ebro Darden of New York's Hot 97 said today on the radio that he heard from Jay-Z himself in an email that the pregnancy rumors were false. "I emailed on some congratulations, send my love to the family, blah, blah, blah," Ebro said. "[Jay-Z] emailed me back and said it's not true."

According to Darden, Jay-Z wrote in the email: "It's not true. The news is worse than blogs," though a rep for Jay-Z did not respond immediately for ABC News' request for a comment.

As Beyoncé has yet to release or give a date for her highly anticipated new album, a follow-up to her latest, "4," fans have been wondering if her pregnancy has kept her from the studio. When the false news was released that she was pregnant, many fans worried about the status of her world tour as well.

However, it looks like things will still go on as scheduled, and her daughter Blue Ivy Carter may not have a sibling yet in the near future, though Beyoncé has confirmed she eventually wants to have more children, as "Blue Ivy needs some company."
