Kate Middleton Due Date, Pregnancy News: Duchess Open to Having a C-Section

As fans of the royal couple excitedly await news of Kate Middleton and Prince William's baby's, the Duchess is making major decisions about her pregnancy during her final weeks before delivering. According to HollywoodLife.com, Middleton will leave it up to the royal doctors on whether or not she'll have a C-section.

As Middleton's due date of July 13 draws closer, the royal mother-to-be has decided that her baby's delivery method will be placed into the hands of the royal doctors, as Robert Jobson, a royal correspondent, told Now magazine.

"When it comes to the birth itself, Kate will leave all the decisions to the doctors on the day about whether it's a natural birth, what pain control she'll have or if it needs to be a Cesarean," Robert told Now.

And like her late mother-in-law Princess Diana, Middleton will be going against the royal tradition of not breastfeeding. The down-to-earth Duchess has plans of breastfeeding her new baby, just as Princess Diana did, setting a fairly new royal trend.

In an interview on "20/20: Bringing Up Baby: Royal Edition," author Daisy Goodwin said that Middleton will probably "do exactly what most women in this country do which is to breastfeed," HollywoodLife reports.

As for the name of the new child, Jobson told Now magazine that it will likely be a traditional one.

"Royal babies have several names and they'll be traditional," he said. "If it's a girl, I'd be surprised if Diana and Elizabeth aren't among the choices."

Naming the baby after Prince William's mother, who famously died in a car crash in 1997 when he was just 15, would certainly be a fitting tribute to the late Princess Diana.

As for the rest of the royal family, Jobson explained that they will not be involved in the naming. "

The names
will be a matter for the couple
to decide and the Queen will
not get involved," he said. "The baby
will get gifts from around the world but I'm sure Kate and Will will ask for charity donations rather than presents."
