Thanksgiving 2015: Top 5 Movies to Catch This Weekend

There are a lot of things people should be thankful about, and one of which is the Thanksgiving holiday for giving everyone the long weekend to enjoy and spend with families and friends. Other than the usual Thanksgiving dinner and a little chitchat with members of the family that one probably hasn't seen since the last year's Holiday weekend, there is just nothing more to do but catch a movie at the nearest theater.

Here are some of the movies to watch during the holiday:

1. The Good Dinosaur

It's a movie from Pixar that all members of the family can enjoy, according to The Verge. It is an animation movie about talking dinosaurs and a little kid that would take you back to one's wildest imagination of the pre-historic world. The movie has received a good review from the same news portal which also stated that you can never go wrong with Pixar's production. The film is already shown in theaters since Nov. 25.

2. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2

One of the biggest movie releases this year is the last part of the "The Hunger Games" franchise. Although the final installment of the series has already been out in theaters for a week, some of the members in the family may not have seen the movie yet.

Although the movie received mixed reviews from critics and viewers alike because it did not quite meet their expectations, the true fans of the series would never want to miss the final part of the games, International Business Times reported.

3. Creed

Sylvester Stallone stars in this movie. The film is centered on a young man who is set to follow the footsteps of his father in the boxing ring. The actor is a mentor to the aspiring young boxer in the movie. The Verge reported it to be a very good movie with superb acting by the cast.

4. The Danish Girl

A film that is reported to be an Oscar contender. The movie is about an artist named Lili Elbe who was one of the first known people to undergo sex reassignment. The film is directed by Tom Hooper, an Oscar winner himself. The movie is set to be shown on Nov. 27, as stated by the news outlet.

5. Spotlight

Another movie that is out now is the thriller "Spotlight." According to The Verge, the movie received a 97 percent score from Rotten Tomatoes that should give anyone an idea not to miss this movie.
