Mary-Kate Olsen, Olivier Sarkozy Married: Actress Gets Hitched in Private Ceremony in Manhattan

Mary-Kate Olsen, 29, has finally gotten married to her longtime boyfriend, Olivier Sarkozy, 46. The intimate ceremony was held Friday night in a private residence in Manhattan, reported Page Six.

Some 50 wedding guests were apparently told to give up their cellphones before the ceremonies, but they were able to enjoy "bowls and bowls filled with cigarettes, and everyone smoked the whole night" at the party, a source told the news outlet. One other source also revealed that the whole event was "small and lovely," and the couple's parents were present among the guest, per Us Weekly.

Mary-Kate and Olivier met in 2012 and have been engaged since 2014. He is the head of the Carlyle Group, a financial service company, and he's also the half-brother of the former president of France, Nicolas Sarkozy. The couple were living together in a $6.25 million townhouse in New York City, prior to getting married.

While this is Mary-Kate's first marriage, Olivier was previously married to Charlotte Bernard, a children's book author and fashion writer, per Bustle. Olivier has two children with Charlotte, but Mary-Kate's influence has apparently made Olivier a "better father." "She remembers all the kids' special events," the source told Us Weekly.

The couple's relationship has people buzzing over their wide age gap, but this didn't seem to matter to the former child star and teen idol. "Everyone has an opinion. I find it's better to focus on what's in front of you and to keep putting one foot in front of the other," Mary-Kate said in 2014.

While her husband holds a high position in the financial industry, Mary-Kate is also a successful business woman. Together with twin sister Ashley, the Olsens have created a fashion empire with labels like The Row and Elizabeth and James. These brands are famous for its handbags and accessories line.

Meanwhile, it doesn't look like Mary-Kate and her sister have any plans of reviving their Hollywood careers as it has been confirmed that the actresses have not taken part in the "Full House" reboot, "Fuller House."

Realty Today reported that Mary-Kate and Ashley, who played Michele Tanner alternatively on the original 90s series when they were kids, didn't even make a cameo appearance. "I understand they're in a different place and I wish them the best," said cast member John Stamos.

Filming for "Fuller House" has already wrapped up and the show will be coming to the streaming site next year.
