Sandra Bullock Daughter: Actress Confirms Adopting Daughter Laila - Why Did Sandra Keep It A Secret?

The adoption of Sandra Bullock's second child surfaced over two months ago, but the actress denied this, as previously reported on Parent Herald. Now, the actress is coming clean and admitting she does have a new daughter, a three-year-old from Louisiana. She named her Laila.

Sandra is on the latest cover of People, where she's seen with 5-year-old adopted son Louis and her new daughter. Both kids have their faces hidden, with Louis wearing a costume and mask and Laila not facing the camera.

The 51-year-old mom said that she kept this a secret at first because she didn't want to risk the girl's adoption process. "Most foster children are in foster care because they were taken from their birth homes under tragic circumstances - and the last thing I wanted was to bring more harm to her because of the nature of my job," she said.

Paparazzi once followed her during an emergency room scare with her baby and then tipped off tabloids with the story. At that time, the adoption was still not official so she strongly denied the rumors that came out, per ABC News. "Unbeknownst to me, a photographer had followed us and taken a photo of us," Bullock said. "The next day, I learned that a photo of her was being shopped around for sale to every outlet around the world. I had promised and legally agreed to protect her from something like this, and here I was chasing down lawyers -- having them, begging them to keep her safe."

However, now that her baby is officially in her care, Sandra has chosen to open up about what it's like to have her in her life. "I can tell you absolutely, the exact right children came to me at the exact right time," she said. "When I look at Laila, there's no doubt in my mind that she was supposed to be here."

Per Baby Center, her son was instrumental in Laila's adoption. "I knew she was scared, and all I wanted was for her to know Louis and I weren't going anywhere." The Hollywood mom dished that the siblings are now inseparable and that there's a lot of "pink and glitter in the house mixed with Legos and Batmans." Sandra believes Louis was ready for the arrival of his baby sister even before the whole thing happened. The adoption process was actually started three years ago, per Yahoo Parenting.
