Zooey Deschanel, Megan Fox on Being Working Moms: It's Hard But 'She Knows Her Mommy Works'

Juggling work with the kids is among the things working moms deal with. It is a tough job, but some do it well. Let's see how celebrity working moms keep their jobs and family altogether.

The "New Girl" star Zooey Deschanel is on maternity leave and she is loving her life more after giving birth to her daughter, Elsie Otter Pechenik. Last August, her rep confirmed that she and her partner Jacob Pechenik welcomed a baby girl and got married secretly.

The actress can't help but gush about her child on an interview with E! News' Kristin Dos Santos at the FOX comedy's 100th episode celebration on Wednesday.

"When you're holding your baby, you're like, 'I don't wanna go to work-this is like the best thing ever'," she told the publication. "But it's nice, you know, I think, having a little girl, she knows her mommy works and I think that's a good thing."

"Nice Girl" season 5 is set to premiere on Jan. 5 and it will feature Megan Fox, who will step in as a guest star while Deschanel is still on leave. Per Movie Pilot, despite Deschanel's confidence on the "Transformers" star, several critics questioned her comedy acting prowess. In fact, some other fans threatened to boycott the show following Fox's casting.

The report suggested that the fans overreacted since Fox will not be replacing Deschanel's character as Jessica Day. She will be playing as "a straight shooting pharmaceutical rep" who will be renting Jessica's room for a few months.

The issue about Fox's casting seems to suggest that the actress is not funny, making her unfit for the comedy sitcom "New Girl." However, show creator Elizabeth Meriweather thinks otherwise. "It's insane to me that such a gorgeous person can be so funny, but I guess we just all have to accept it. I've been a fan of her comedic skills since This is 40, and I'm so excited to have her on the show," she said.

The report suggested that Fox appeared in the comedy film "This Is 40" and has years of sitcom experience under her belt including "Hope and Faith" and "Saturday Night Live." In fact, she has excellent comedic timing per the report.

Meanwhile, Fox, 29, shares two sons with ex Brian Austin Green. The actress revealed that it's tough to be a working mom. "You feel like a lot of mother's guilt, having to leave [your child] all the time and then at a certain point, I had to just release that and go," she said.

"So I'm doing better with it," the mom of two explained. "But it's hard because you feel like that's where you're supposed to be and you're very torn, constantly."

We salute your Fox. Let's watch her on "New Girl" Season 5, which premieres on Jan. 5, 2016.
