'Captain America: Civil War' Cast & Trailer: Plot Reveals Team Dynamics -- Official Synopsis Here!

Next year's “Captain America: Civil War” will be pitting Avenger against Avenger, but Marvel wants to let all concerned fans know why. In fact, it has released a new plot synopsis for that.

Sure, details have been spilled as to who goes side-to-side with who, but the “why” is still unclear. Maybe the synopsis can shed a light on that. Here it is, courtesy of Marvel:

“Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team.

“The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.”

Collider reported that this new synopsis has a lot of similarities to the first, only differing in some aspects.

First, the earlier synopsis mentioned that the “new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.” The new synopsis could have elaborated on that, as everybody already knows that the superhero group is already split. Instead, it dismissed the idea, far away from spoiling itself.

Next, both Team Cap's and Team Iron Man's reasons are plainly laid out in the new synopsis. Steve Rogers (Chris Evan) is fighting for the freedom to defend humanity, while Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) has decided to go in favor of government oversight and accountability.

Both their reasons are easy to understand, basing on the events of the prequels or preceding movies prior to “Captain America: Civil War.” Rogers had a bad experience in “The Winter Soldier,” discovering that Hydra, the organization he has been fighting for a long time, is working behind-the-scenes inside S.H.I.E.L.D.

Stark, on the other hand, feels that he is highly responsible for the damages that he thinks he has caused.

In “Age of Ultron,” he was responsible for creating Ultron without the other Avengers knowing -- save for Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner -- his vision from Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch still haunts him and his weapons technology has caused many deaths -- which is why he stopped creating weapons and instead focused on making it right as Iron Man.

Still, the synopsis does not explain what Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther will be doing in the movie.

“Captain America: Civil War” premieres May 6, 2016.
