Selena Gomez's Mom Gives Birth: It's A Girl

Selena Gomez has become the proud sister of a little girl.

According to reports, the 20-year-old singer's mother Mandy Cornett and husband Brian Teefey welcomed a baby girl.

Gomez's friend Demi Lovato broke the news on Twitter: "@selenagomez IS A BIG SISTER!!!!!! Everyone congratulate her and her family!!!!!! #CONGRATSSELENA!!!!" she wrote, June 13.

Gomez is Cornett's only child with husband Ricardo Joel Gomez. However, the couple got legally separated when Gomez was 5 years old. Mandy, who was a former stage actress, married Brian Teefey in 2006.

On Mother's Day this year, the pop star took to Twitter to share her happiness of getting such a lovely mother in her life. By posing with her pregnant mom and posting it on the site, she also indirectly announced that she is going to be a big sister.

"Hope all the amazing moms had a great day! I have the best momma in the world :)) I love you so much!" she wrote, May 12.

Prior to the current pregnancy and baby, Cornett had suffered a miscarriage earlier. In November 2011, Gomez revealed to the world that her mom is pregnant with her first child with Teefey :"Momma and Brian are finally letting me share the news...My mommy's carrying my baby brother or sister :) I'm the happiest girl in the world!" she Tweeted.

However, her happiness didn't last long and in December, Cornett suffered a miscarriage and to support her mother, Gomez canceled two of her concerts.
