'Jurassic World 2' Cast & Spoilers: Upcoming Sequel's Plot Will Bring Some Fan Favorites; Plus T-Rex vs. Spinosaurus Rematch?

"Jurassic World" was a major success at the box office, so much so that it currently holds the number 3 spot in the list of the highest-grossing films of all time. This is why it comes as no surprise that there will be a "Jurassic World 2" that will bring back a lot of fan favorites.

A lot of reports claim that "Jurassic World" leads Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will return for the reported sequel. Movie News Guide also reports that Sam Neill will reprise his role of Dr. Alan Grant from the original Jurassic Park films. Aside from Neill, it is also being reported that Laura Dern will reprise her role as Dr. Ellie Satler.

This news was seemingly confirmed in the official Twitter account associated with the top-grossing dinosaur flick. "If@starwars can include original cast in their new trilogy, so can @JurassicPark! RT if you agree! #JurassicWorld," they tweeted from the account. This has raised speculation from fans about who else could return for "Jurassic World 2."

There has not been much news about the much-awaited sequel to "Jurassic World." Though it has been confirmed that Colin Trevorrow, director of "Jurassic World," will not return to helm the sequel. However, according to Latinos Health, he is directly involved in the development of the sequel.

"It's her [Clare] story that mirrors this changing world. Owen has s*** to deal with. The two of them opened Pandora's Box in Jurassic World and each of them are responsible for different elements of it in different ways," Trevorrow said in a recent interview.

Trevorrow directly responded to a comment by a fan to bring back the Spinosaurus and T-Rex in an epic rematch. "@_Ernesto_Jose_ noted, my friend," Trevorrow tweeted from his official account. However, this is not direct confirmation that the fight will actually occur in the movie.

Because of the popularity of the movie franchise, a lot of toys and video games have been developed using it as inspiration. There are definitely more of these to come once the sequel nears its release date. "Jurassic World 2" will premiere on June 22, 2018.
