Here are the dos and don'ts of the health expert of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" as posted on The Dr. Oz Show.

Do the following to lose some pounds and get back into shape:

1. Jumpstart your day right. Upon waking up in the morning, drink a cup of water with lemon to detoxify.

2. Prepare some organic smoothie for breakfast. Just blend 2 tbsp of rice powder, 2 tbsp ground flaxseed, ½ cup of frozen berries, ½ cup banana, a cup of ice, and 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk.

3. Eat protein to boost metabolism and help suppress appetite. Ensure to have at least 6 ounces of meat per day.

4. Consume half cup of brown rice every day; otherwise, forget about your carbs for the day.

5. Have a cup of 2% plain Greek yogurt per day or else, say goodbye to any other dairy product.

6. Eat unlimited of low-glycemic vegetables such as bean sprout, broccoli, eggplant, okra, cucumber and many more.

7. Take multivitamins to boost your immune system.

8. End your day with a relaxing detox bath. Soak yourself in a bath tub with 2 cups of Epsom salt and a cup of baking soda.

Beware: Make sure not to do these as this could do more harm than good to your body -- affecting your fitness goals.

1. Include artificial sweeteners including diet sodas in your thirst quencher buckets.

2. Envy others who take unlimited alcoholic drinks. You don't need one, anyway.

3. Take caffeine to boost your energy. Eating healthy foods will surely do the trick.

It takes time and effort to lose weight and keep oneself healthy. So, see to it that you "strive for greatness" as advised by most fitness and health experts.
