'Half-Life 3' Game Update: 'Half-life 1 & 2' Co-Creator Mark Laidlaw Leaves Valve; 'Half-Life 3' Not In The Works Anymore?

Valve's "Half-Life 3" might not be coming out any time soon after news broke out that Valve's "Half-Life 1 & 2" co-creator Mark Laidlaw left Valve. The writer in an email expressed to his fans that he was no longer together with Valve and he has no idea of anything Valve is working on, even "Half-life 3."

"I am no longer a full or part time Valve employee, no longer involved in day-to-day decisions or operations, no longer a spokesperson for the company, no longer privy to most types of confidential information, no longer working on Valve games in any capacity," Laidlaw wrote on his e-mail to a fan. Laidlaw has been with Valve for the longest time, ever since the very first "Half-Life" and to have him, who is one of the most important people in the "Half-Life" creation suddenly leaving is questionable.

Fans can't find a reason for Laidlaw to leave Valve suddenly and are speculating that there must be a misunderstanding inside the company. As for "Half-Life 3" and the possibility of it being released is also on the minds of the gamers after Laidlaw's actions.

However, Valve has been hinting that the next installment of the "Half-Life" series is distinctively different from "Half-Life 1 & 2" and it's no secret to the fans that Valve wants to bring a non-traditional game unto the shelves. Although some fans just want "Half-Life" to end soon since there are many loose ends in the story and it would take a lot of "Half-Life" installments to cover the whole story.

Valve can only hope that there plans for the story of "Half-Life 3" will be as well as it was on "Half-Life 1 & 2" since Laidlaw's writing was impeccable. It is for certain that Valve has some ideas of how "Half-life 3" will go but having one of the most important writers leaving the company in such delicate time might change the whole thing up.
