'Final Fantasy Explorers' Release Date & Update: Game Will Feature More Cloud And Lightning Footage

"Final Fantasy Explorers" still owes a lot to the previous games even if it comes as a new twist on the long-running JRPG series' formula. Players can transform into 11 of the most popular characters of the franchise. A new trailer allows players to see Yuna, Cloud and Lightning in action.

Games Radar stated that players can choose in "Final Fantasy Explorers" from 21 cool jobs such as Ninja, Machinist and Dark Knight and hunt down monsters in a never-ending quest. Players can also transform temporarily into classic character if they complete special requirements.

The cast of returning characters includes Tifa, Cloud and Aerith (from FF7), Bartz (FF5), Cecil (FF4), Lightning (FF13), Squall (FF8), Terra (FF6), Tidus (FF10), Vaan (FFXII), and Yuna (FF10-2). The game will be released on January 26 for 3DS.

"Final Fantasy Explorers" action is focused on monster hunt and challenges gamers to slaughter impossibly strong monsters. By doing so, the gamers become slaughter and tougher.

Everything else about "Explorers" does remind us much of other "Final Fantasy" games. Iconic monsters will assist you in combat, players will face the famous god-like Eidolons, and you can transform in "Final Fantasy" heroes at peak strength.

"Final Fantasy Explorers" will feature about 100 hours of quick, single-focus missions where you have to cross a small area map in order to reach and defeat the boss. Almost all creatures you'll encounter come from an early quest involves fighting Shiva.

You may also run into a Malboro, a creature comprised of sharp teeth and tentacles. The game will bring only two entirely new enemies, the fabulous plant-creature Dyrad and the sword-winged Amaterasu.

Players will have available a team of three at their back composed of captured monsters or of their online buddies. Each player can get up to eight separate abilities. The goal of the game is to not let monsters to get in your way between you and the boss. According to Siliconera, players will be able to expand their available job classes and to acquire more impressive armor and weapons.
