WhatsApp To Share User Information With Facebook

Social media giant Facebook purchased the WhatsApp messaging service back in 2014 so it was only a matter of time before the latter was further incorporated into its new owner. This may be the case now as WhatsApp is preparing to share its user information with Facebook.

This move began with a lot of WhatsApp users being happy as the messaging service announced that it will drop its yearly subscription charges. However, a lot of people were divided about the next part of their move.

While the option is still hidden, a little bit of tweaking from Android user Javier Santos revealed that the next update of WhatsApp will give users the option to share their information with Facebook. Apparently this is an attempt to "improve the user's Facebook experience," says reports from the Android Authority.

This option is ticked off by default and you have to manually approve it in order to share information between the two services. However, it is still unclear what kind of information would be shared between Facebook and WhatsApp if you do decide to opt to this new feature.

Fortunately, there are good features to come with this update release. "Other changes found in this beta include a new end-to-end encryption option, which makes your messages, even mor,e secure so WhatsApp and third parties can't see it," says Killian Bell for the Cult of Android.

There is also a new "Documents" section on WhatsApp. This section allows you to quickly browse through the documents that were sent to you by your contacts on WhatsApp. The update is still in its beta testing stage so there is no official announcement regarding which of these updates will make it to the final release. However, users would not be wrong to believe that these updates will be released at one point in time or another.
