'House Of Cards' Updates: Gets Renewed For Season 5, Showrunner Steps Down, More Spoilers For Season 4

The hit Netflix political drama series, "House Of Cards" has not even started its fourth season yet, but the network already announced this week that they are ordering new episodes for season 5.

Fans would once again see the many things that President Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) is up to only this time without the show's original showrunner, Beau Willimon, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.

In an interview Willimon had with the publication, he said how grateful he is for his team, which includes Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright. He revealed that after half a decade of working for the hit series, he felt that it is just time for him "to move on to new endeavors." He continued by saying, "but I'm supremely proud of what we've built together, wish the show much continued success, and leave it in the hands of a very capable team."

The network and the producers also released a statement of gratitude towards Willimon, appreciating his hard work and vision for the show for the past four seasons.

"As an Academy Award-nominated writer, he made his first foray into television and built a riveting and critically acclaimed series, establishing his place in TV history. The producers, cast and crew join us in wishing Beau the best in his next creative adventure," Netflix added.

The Hollywood Reporter also got a hold of the updates pertaining to "House of Cards," as they reported that the fifth season of the show will air in 2017. But for now, fans could watch the premiere of season 4 in less than a month away.

Viewers will see how busy President Underwood would be since he will be focusing on his campaign for reelection. The network has released a lot of teasers about what fans could expect and most of them are about the said campaign.
