Mom Of A Teenage Victim Of "Duct Tape Challenge" Warns Parents About Its Danger

There is a newest Internet craze and it is called the "duct tape challenge," which placed 14-year-old Skylar Fish in the hospital, fighting for his life because of the severe injuries he acquired from it.

Yahoo News reported about this viral challenge that has been spreading all over YouTube that most kids think it is nothing but a harmless game. The challenge involves getting out of a duct tape that has been wrapped up in one's body. Fish is one of those who tried it along with his friends, as they taped each other to a pole. They have done it before and nothing bad happened. But not on Jan. 16 where an unexpected thing occurred.

Fish with two of his friends gave the challenge another shot. His arms and legs were covered in duck tape while standing up. He then tried to get out of it. Unfortunately, he fell with his face first on a window frame that eventually led him to a concrete pavement.

In an interview that Fish's mom, Sarah had with KIRO 7 News, she said that her son's whole eye socket was crushed and falling on the ground had pinched off some nerves in his eye. Not only was his eye affected from the accident, but he is also now suffering from aneurysm. Fish has undergone 48 stitches on his head and has been in the hospital for over a week now.

The 14-year-old "duct tape challenge" victim said he is just really lucky to be alive. There are over 224,000 YouTube videos related to this challenge, which means that it is also the number of people who have tried the dare and are into it. Suprisingly, there are even videos that get up to 2 million hits.

Fish's mother would want to warn parents regarding the dangers of this game. Parents should educate their kids about the risk and what awaits them should they continue to play with it.
