Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt Divorce: Does Angelina Jolie Have Anorexia? 'Tomb Raider' Star A Victim of Body Shaming?

News of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt divorce are once again being bandied around and, this time, the cause is purported to be Angelina Jolie's anorexia. News have painted Brad Pitt as the frustrated, even frightened, husband of a wife who refuses to be helped through a serious case of the eating disorder anorexia nervosa.

Celeb Dirty Laundry pointed out that Jolie's bones have been protruding rather unhealthily in recent photos. The magazine also echoed other publications in reporting that Jolie's weight and weight loss are alarming. The suggestion is that Brad Pitt has been giving Jolie the ultimatum on anorexia and divorce.

National Enquirer, on the other hand, persistently played the anorexia card with such headlines as "83-Pound Angelina Jolie - Anorexic & Dying!" in August 2015, "Angelina Jolie: Scary Skinny While Filming In Cambodia" in December 2015, "Angelina Jolie Anorexia Scare At Film Premiere" around mid-January this year and "Anorexic Angelina - 82 Lbs And Starving!" as recently as a few days ago.

The premiere of Jolie's "Kung Fu Panda 3" became a festive springboard for these speculations. The Examiner made this observation about Jolie's appearance in the event. "Jolie wore a loose-fitting black dress that spotlighted her toothpick-thin legs and skinny arms. Angelina looked beautiful, as usual, but also tired and weak," the Examiner wrote.

Gossip Cop refutes these, however, and says that Jolie is a victim of active and persistent body shaming. The news agency points out that Jolie had never been one to keep secrets and, in fact, has been quite open about her health issues.

In 2015, Jolie had a double mastectomy and hysterectomy over concerns that a defective BRIP1 gene could cause cancerous growth in the "Tomb Raider" star. The Telegraph reports that Jolie is actually being credited for having increasing public awareness on cancer-causing genes, such as what is now called the Jolie-gene.

Gossip Cop also pointed out the gravity of a condition as anorexia so that it should not be carelessly used on a person and, in this case, on Angelina Jolie and her marriage to Brad Pitt.
